Navigating in CityPlanner
Zoom in and out
You can use the plus- and minus- buttons to zoom in and out in the map. You can also zoom in and out by holding your right mouse button down and at the same time moving the mouse up or down.
Move around
You can use the arrow buttons to move around in the map. You can also move by holding your left mouse button down and at the same time move the mouse.
Rotate
Click and drag the compass ring to rotate. You can click on the North-icon to rotate back to north facing up. You can also rotate by holding the right and left mouse buttons (or the middle button) and at the same time move the mouse up or down.
Viewpoints
A project can contain predefined views, easily accessible by clicking the viewpoint buttons at the left of the browser window. Layers can also contain viewpoints, visible when the layer is visible.
How to use tools and options
Show layers
A project can contain layers. A layer can for instance visualize different examples in urban planning projects or versions of one model. Click on the button Show in 3D to show a layer, click on the button Hide to hide a layer.
Comment
You can add your own comments in some projects. Click on the button Write comment in the layer that you wish to comment. If you want to geo reference your comment, click on the Place on map button. Click on the button Add comment to finish. Depending on the project setting, your comment might need approval before getting published. To view other peoples comments, click on the button Show comments which will be visible if there are other comments.
Maximize/Restore
To see the 3D-view in fullscreen mode with the right side panel hidden, click on the maximize button. Layers are accessible as buttons visible on the right hand side of the browser window. Click on the Restore button to exit fullscreen mode.
Compare alternatives
If a project has more than one layer, you can use the Compare alternatives button to view layers concurrently. Click on the button again to exit the Compare mode.
Change font size
You can change the font size by clicking the font size selector buttons at the top of the right side panel.
